Olga Simón (Madrid, 1974) Olga has a Fine Arts degree from the Universidad del Pais Vasco and is studying for a doctorate in introspective photography at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Since obtaining her degree in 1997, she has pursued the profession of freelance artist, combining this with her teaching, judging at competitions, artistic consultancy and as assistant director of exhibitions. On the artistic front, Olga Simón has trained with creative talents of stature, such as Duane Michals, Chema Madoz and Daniel Canogar, amongst others, and her work could be seen in numerous galleries and institutions, both national and international, such as the Centro Cultural Pilar Miró in Madrid, the Sala Rekalde Area2 in Bilbao or the Sala Kursala Art Gallery at the University of Cadiz. In addition to participating in fairs such as the C.A.R Contemporary Art Ruhr in Germany, ArteLisboa, and Valencia Art. In 2004 the artist received the II Premio Thibierge & Comar Awards (Paris), and her work forms a part of various artistic funds, eg the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and the Musée of Elysée in Switzerland. She currently has a permanent exhibit at 100 kubik raum für spanische kunst in Cologne, Germany, and also in the ENCANT, with which she has been associated since 2010.
